The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看此类型的片已经看麻了…不过真的要感谢金大中，让我们能看到很多好看的电影。

韩国政治家都是专业的演说家、优秀的表演家、野心的操纵家，如果背后再有个高智商的影子策划家，那么这一场场的选举终将成为没有硝烟的战场。而且战火还是相当激烈的！李善均的音色依然充满磁性，好听到爆！因为两位优秀的男主，相比《南山部长》，更喜欢这部！
影片没有紧张刺激的动作戏，着重表现两位主角的观念冲突，一明一暗，李善均略逊于薛景求。
当然可以把他替换为任何朝代，任何组织，任何两派斗法的传统故事中去，但总觉得这样就相当于表明我们这个世界没有任何进步，就还是谁赢谁牛逼。嘲笑理想和接受理想终为虚幻还是有区别的吧
拧拧巴巴的西方审美。果然舶来品特么都是一整套的，选举、辩论、西方哲学、莎士比亚。薛景求就是个正儿八经的虚假的理想主义者。其实薛当上CEO未必比现任更好，区别无非是一个敢画大饼，一个不想画大饼而已。
画面感很强，故事性缺少一些冲突，明明很刺激 给人的感觉倒不是很强烈
制作精良，演员表演上乘，不过对比南山的部长，剧本的紧张感不够，节奏不是很稳的感觉，李善均和薛景求都是非常优秀的演员，看他们演戏，绝对是一种享受。

以金大中为原型的政治类影片，为达目的，不择手段，然而现实只会更加黑暗不堪。薛景求和李善均的组合无比丝滑。
成王败寇。ZZ博弈本质就是想尽一切办法推倒对方，不在乎过程是否正大光明，每个阵营嘴里喊的都是为rm服务。哈哈哈
说到底 徐昌大是金云范另一种人格的体现罢了 当主人格即将达到目的 一直行使不堪手段的”影子“当然也就要谢幕了 另 结合当下 虽说政治家都是最好的演员 但某市的副市长缩着手开市民家的冰箱门 反戴口罩出席新闻发布会这种降智举动却令人不得不暗中揣测它们那群货色到底是不想演还是根本不会演
四平八稳的推进，渐入佳境。人物的色彩单调了点。
韩国的政治剧真的绝了，什么都可以挖掘，什么都可以拍。选举中的明争暗斗，选票的争夺其实是熟捻人性后的导向策略，当然有时需要凭空造事，有时需要应变交易。
和南山部长映射朴xx 不同，王者制造映射的金大中，韩国如今的审查制度也是在金任期通过的，薛景求是影片质量保证，如果影子肖有坞先生的悟性便好，站上台前的阴损军师永远都要被清算，可惜坞先生本身也是虚构人物，李善均演那种阴损毒辣没底线的形象还差点火候，有点太年轻了。影子肖被抓薛景求很着急想去解救肖被人拉住劝他说“我知道你有多么在乎他以及他为你做了多少，但是你现在需要了解你的立场，结束独裁实现民主这就是坐在这里每个人都在为之奋斗的目标——但我不能放弃他——然后代替你，党的领导人如何为我们所有人采取行动”中，然后代替你什么意思？
正值韩国新总统上任，前后出了这个新片，一个言论不受限制的地方就是这么牛逼
