During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 故事讲得真心不精彩，因为没有侧重没有凸出，甚至有迎合的用心。硝烟事件其实在《中国近代史》里可以看到完整的事件过程，而我自己对鸦片的生意原本就有兴趣，只是离开学校之后才有机会得以了解。现在觉得应该补齐鸦片的工艺制作，差不多就可以在心里告一段落，放下这块石头。2021-09-24
电影比较紧凑，看得很爽，但高潮部分却不够精彩。
剧本，演技，动作指导简直无可挑剔，谢苗可以的，现在网大直逼院线烂片，只是主旋律用在这个地方有点违和了，林则徐和清政府在当时硝烟事件和结果是有争议的，总的来说，好片子

近现代史始于鸦片战争，是屈辱的沉痛的历史。但是影片告诉我们，中国人民从一开始就没有沉沦放弃，我们的抗争自始至终！

整体没什么出色的表现，但电信诈骗专家的表现还是能留下一些记忆点的。

这部拍的相当可以啊，难得的很好的动作片。故事情节设计，节奏把握，服装道具，演员的表演，都非常到位。虽然也有瑕疵，但是必须五星鼓励一下。
林则徐找的演员太差,他一直演反派了,应该找个看面相就一身正气的人来演.导演目光太小了,应该拍百姓的苦难,怒火,把眼光放大,而不是一直放在那几个人身上,看不到百姓的苦难和怒火,只看到几个人一直打打打.
谢苗的文戏演出有突破。影片用功夫片和黑帮片的类型片元素融入到历史框架里，做出了年轻热血感，也不乏历史厚重感，值得推荐的网络电影。
